Since April of 2015 I've been leading AEDP training here in Ithaca.
My original goal was twofold: I wanted to build a community of colleagues who share my enthusiasm for the remarkable transformative power of Diana Fosha's Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. I am also so passionate about the power of AEDP to heal, that I want to help stimulate interest and help therapists learn the basic skills of AEDP locally. Several members of the groups are finding their experience with AEDP so rewarding that they are travelling to New York, Boston, and even San Francisco to learn from AEDP Institute faculty. (Please note: I am an AEDP Certified therapist and supervisor, but not a member of the AEDP faculty. Hours spent in my trainings supply hours towards AEDP Certification, and they earn CEUs)
Since the first group began in 2015, four more cohorts of AEDP learners have joined the AEDP community here in Central New York State, and two thriving ongoing groups continue to meet twice a month. Members of all groups range in experience from relatively "new" clinicians to very seasoned therapists. They share a devotion to their clients, and a desire to offer the most effective treatment possible. As people learn the skills of AEDP, they report that not only are their sessions with clients more productive and engaging, but they see remarkable shifts in their own personal lives. As we use the skills of AEDP, we grow our capacity for authentic presence with others.
If this sounds interesting to you, and you are a member of a healing profession where such skills might be useful, please contact me. I continue to offer introductory trainings and skill-building modules of AEDP.
You’re invited to join the AEDP of CENTRAL NEW YORK STATE listserve, which will offer a place to request or offer experiential therapy referrals, and from which you will receive notification of special AEDP related events, locally and in New York.
